Bewildered Luck

You
trusted
me
to
drive
you
year
after
year
across
Europe
and
America
half
the
time
not
knowing
where
I
was
going
bewildered
by
foreign
road signs
distracted
by
the
scenery
making
endless
wrong
turns
screamed
at
by
you
and
the
others
following
us.
Yet
in
all
this
you
were
there
sitting
next
to
me
often
so
silent
so
utterly
still
I
felt
unworthy
to
be
with
you
and
to
be
close
to
you,
wondered
by
what
magic
grace
this
was
happening
to
me
even
in
the
midst
of
your
storms
and
rages
I
knew
I
was
lucky
beyond
measure.
